It all started when…

Welcome to Mairi MacSween Designs, a design studio based in Leith, Edinburgh. I am an artist who creates luxury wedding stationery, greetings cards and digital prints which incorporate my own illustrations.

A textile graduate from Duncan of Jordanstone College of Art and Design, I moved to Japan after art college before returning to Edinburgh to start MMD in 2002. I originally started designing and making greetings cards but was commissioned to design some wedding stationery and never looked back…

My award winning stationery is all meticulously handcrafted with great attention to detail using the highest quality of board which is FSC certified and sourced from the UK.

All of my designs feature my original artworks which makes them completely unique. I work mainly in pencil, watercolour or ink before scanning the illustrations into my computer and printing them into your stationery. My designs are elegant, thoughtful and artistic and I obsess over typefaces and paper samples to create the perfect result!

When I’m not creating in my studio. I love travelling, visiting exhibitions, pottering with my plants, cuddling my cat or being in nature!
